Gløgg (Scandinavian Mulled Wine)

This recipe is such a great way to warm up in these cold, winter months looming ahead. It’s super simple and is great for a fun drink for any holiday party you might be having!

•1 large saucepan

•A strainer

•Glasses, for serving


•1 bottle red wine

•1 1/2 cups bourbon (optional!)

•1/2 cup sugar

•1 orange, sliced + the zest

•2 Tablespoons raisins

•2 cinnamon sticks

•8 cloves

•1 Tablespoon cardamom pods

•2 Tablespoons slivered almonds

1) In a large pot, combine all the ingredients, and bring to a simmer for 15 minutes.

2.) Remove from heat, and allow to steep for up to an hour. Then, using a strainer, remove the fruit and spices.

3.) If you would like to serve it hot, simply bring back to a simmer for 5 minutes, and serve with a slice of orange for garnish.
