When you don’t feel like making pie crust for an apple pie, this dessert is the perfect alternative. It’s a quick and easy delicious apple dessert with a melt in your mouth crumble topping.

SERVES [6]
INGREDIENTS:
BASE:
7-8 apples, peeled and cut into ½ ” slices (Granny Smith or Macintosh apples work best)
¾ cup coconut sugar (granulated sugar if you’d rather make it with that!)
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
CRUMBLE:
1 ½ cups rolled oats
1 cup gluten free flour
1 stick unsalted butter, melted, or 8 tablespoons
½ cup coconut sugar (brown sugar for regular)
DIRECTIONS:
1.) Preheat the oven to 350ºF and grease a 9×13 baking dish with nonstick baking spray.
2.) In a large bowl, mix together the peeled and sliced apples, sugar, cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg. Then, pour into the prepared baking dish.
3.) In a small bowl, mix together the oats, flour, sugar, and butter until it clumps together, then sprinkle over the apple base.
4.) Bake for 40-45 minutes or until the apples are soft. You can check by inserting a knife into the center, and if it comes out without resistance, the crisp is done. Serve with vanilla ice cream or lightly sweetened whipped cream.
Cover the container with aluminum foil and store in the fridge for up to 3 days.
